Under bankruptcy protection, Zephion sells assets to Masergy
Washington Business Journal
Masergy Communications, an Irving, Texas-based network service provider, said today its acquired certain assets of Falls Church, Va.-based Zephion.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Masergy first announced it was interested in Zephion's assets, especially its network infrastructure hardware, after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in late June.
Now, after receiving court approval, Masergy acquired Zephion's Internet protocol hardware for 29 hubs, software assets and proprietary rights related to backbone engineering and services, network management, fiber construction and systems support.
Masergy officials say the acquisition will help it build out its network.
Zephion spun off from Broadband Office, which filed for bankruptcy in May.
